| | Often messages arrive to us from parents soliciting advice to face some exasperating situations related to the attacks of wrath, the obsessions, the low self-esteem: with all the Co-morbidity that undergoes many of the children affected by the Syndrome of Tourette (ST).
This recurrent necessity is the one that has motivated the beginning of a stable psycho-educational program, directed to help to children of between 8 14 years as much, and its parents and mothers to acquire certain skills, abilities or “tricks” to entail better the conflicting situations and to reduce stress.
At the moment we began with the sessions directed to this strip of age and its caretakers, but our illusion and our efforts go directed to also adapt it to other groups (adolescent and adult). The first call began the 21 of November of 2007, but there will be more based on the budgets of the Association. The course is gratuitous and the only requirement to participate is to be or to become partner.

The objective of the program
When?
When? What it is? It is a psycho-educational program for affected of Syndrome of Tourette and its relatives. The affected relatives of of ST experience overload feelings frequently and present/display a high risk of presenting/displaying psychiatric morbidity. Recent publications suggest interventions destined them to provide strategies to reduce the overload of taking care of can be beneficial (Cooper ET to, 2003).Starting off of the idea that this psycho-social attention would have to be in consonance with the characteristics and affected and familiar specific necessities of each group of in individual, and it would have to constitute a resource next to the affected population, considering the associations of affected and familiar a suitable frame for its diffusion.Index What is based on? Project financed by the European Commission Nº is based on the program “EduPark” (: QLK6-CT-2002-02674 “Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources ") and adapted by the equipment of the Unit of Parkinson of the Foundation of Functional Neurosurgery of Barcelona for its application in the syndrome of Tourette (project financed by “ the Caixa” in 2005). - Nº anticipated groups to make: 3 Index Information about the program The Edutour program is born of a previous experience of psicoeducación in the Disease of Parkinson (EduPark). This educative program is based partly on the idea that the people can improve their quality of life when changing the way to confront the problems. One has demonstrated that the way how a same situation confronts and the capacity that one must to handle it can influence in stress, the spirit and even the health, and in the effectiveness of medicines. To change the way to see the things can help and increase the well-being sensation , although a person with ST. is taking care of itself Index The objective of the program - To distribute knowledge;- To teach abilities;- To incorporate the knowledge and abilities to handle the ST in order:- To come up/To control/To reduce the emotional stress generated by the ST;- To develop special abilities to interact with the person with ST.
